On Sunday 6th September Heversham Bowling Club held their internal Men’s and Ladies’ Singles Competitions.
Thankfully the rain stayed away, unlike the year before when it poured down!
The men’s final was between Martin Tomlinson and Peter Wightman. It was a good final, with Martin winning the game.
The ladies’ final was between Louise Tomlinson and Vera Alderson. It was a close fought final, Louise ran out the winner.
Throughout the afternoon there was a good standard of bowling by all participants.
Margaret Nelson presented Martin with the trophy, a decanter and a bottle of whisky.
The rose bowl along with a bunch of roses and a bottle of wine were presented to Louise by Margaret, who is the sponsor of the ladies trophy
Looking back over the years Martin and Louise have been the only married couple to win the singles competition in the same year,
