The W.I. Shirley Askew Trophy
On the evening of Wednesday July 2nd ladies from the Women’s Institute and the bowling club met for an enjoyable, fun-filled evening of bowling. Members of the W.I. were competing for the Shirley Askew Trophy. Fortunately the weather was pleasant, as was the Pimm’s which was provided, perhaps wisely, after the evening’s bowling.
Once again the winner from the W.I. was Glenys Weare, while Susan Ellis was the runner-up. From the bowling club the winner was Alison Warwick while the runner-up was Louise Tomlinson.
Below on the left you can see Glenys receiving the trophy and on the right Alison is receiving her prize.
