The Jubilee Shield
Sunday July 6th was a pleasant afternoon, with the sun breaking through, to play for the Jubilee Shield, which is a doubles competition. This year fourteen players took part. As usual there was a break for tea and cake which sustained the players and helpers. The finalists were Peter Wightman and Bert Suttie v. Robin Wharfe and Colin James. Robin and Colin won through to win the shield which was presented by Vera Alderson, the Club Captain.
