The Jubilee Shield

The Jubilee Shield

The Jubilee shield is a club competition for mixed doubles. Partners are chosen by random draw and the system is a straightforward knockout. This year fourteen members took part on Sunday 9th July. Everything was well going well until the finals when Colin James, who was acting as organiser and captain, quite rightly decided that owing to an encroaching thunderstorm play should be suspended. At that stage Margaret Nelson and Bert Suttie were on 12 and Louise Tomlinson and Adrian Salt were on 11. The final was replayed on Saturday 29th July.
