The Leasgill Trophy
Sunday August 3rd saw fourteen club members competing for the Leasgill Trophy. The shield was kindly given to the club by Maureen and Gordon Coleclough, former members and keen and successful bowlers. The competition is a mixed singles. Striking a blow for the equality of women in bowling three women were in the semi-finals and two in the finals. The semi-finalists were Mike Warwick v. Louise Tomlinson, (seen below on the left), and Susan Ellis v. Julie Wharfe, (seen below on the right). After a long afternoon’s bowling Louise and Susan went through to the final, with Louise winning the Trophy. Congratulations Louise!
